About FreshPlate

The meal nobody planned for you.

FreshPlate is a UK nutrition app for people whose meals come with rules — allergies, medical conditions, medications, cultural needs. We plan food around all of it, and show you exactly why every meal is safe for you.

From the founder

Here is the fact that changed how I think about food: poor diet now kills more people worldwide than smoking. The largest analysis of diet and health ever done — the Global Burden of Disease study in The Lancet — found that what we eat is linked to around 11 million deaths a year. That's one in five deaths on Earth, traced back to the plate. Not genetics. Not bad luck. Dinner.

And FreshPlate started with the gap nobody fills around exactly that. You get a diagnosis, a new prescription, or an allergy result — and suddenly every meal is a question mark. Your doctor says “watch what you eat.” Your pharmacist hands you a leaflet. The internet gives you fourteen conflicting lists. But nobody actually plans your dinner.

Every meal-planning app I tried handed out the same generic 1,500-calorie template — one that had no idea whether you're on metformin, carry an EpiPen, or eat halal. So I'm building the tool I couldn't find: one that starts from everything about your body and your life, then plans food that fits. And for every meal, you can tap “why” and see the actual reasoning — because trust in health products should be earned, not assumed.
