1 · What do you take?
Gaviscon works best when taken after meals and at bedtime, and certain foods can worsen the heartburn and indigestion it treats.
Gaviscon is most effective when taken after meals and at bedtime. Avoid rich, spicy and fatty foods, acidic foods, and fizzy drinks as these can make your symptoms worse. Alcohol makes your stomach produce more acid and can irritate the stomach lining. Try not to eat for at least 3 hours before bed.
